Throughout history, there have been numerous examples of truly terrifying events that have occurred in real life. Since then, the story of the Amityville Horror has become an iconic part of popular culture.
The Axeman of New Orleans: Between 1918 and 1919, a mysterious serial killer known as the Axeman went on a killing spree in New Orleans. He targeted Italian-American grocers, butchered them with an axe and then vanished without a trace. There were numerous theories as to who the Axeman was, but the case remains unsolved to this day.
